Tolerance???

This will not become a political blog but I need to vent a little. One of my dear friends is a Obama supporter and feels like people are judging her for supporting him I do not agree with how people are treating her at all. (I am a McCain supporter ) Several times in my friends blog people will write how Christians need to be more tolerant, and it makes me so frustrated we can not tolerate sin as Christians. Thou shalt not murder abortion is murder, marriage is to be between one man and one women I can not vote for someone who can just look the other way. Jesus was not tolerant of the women at the well he loved her enough not to be tolerant, but to confront her on her wrong and help her rise above, and that's what we need to do. We can't look down on people, but to look the other way is to let them keep going down a dangerous path. If we accept anything less than the Bible what future is our kids going to have. My own sister feels that there is nothing wrong with these things and it breaks my heart. I have no problem with Obama being black I wouldn't care if he was purple with pink dots and I am sick of this being about race, you know Jesus wasn't white but I still follow him. Please do not be offended by this it's just how I feel and I needed to get it out.

A funny thing at school

I teach four and five year old's at a preschool. This little boy is always having me smell stuff like empty pringle cans, dandelions, and other normal stuff. Today we were sitting down in the quiet area when he says smell my hand, he was just dropped off not too long ago so I'm thinking lotion. I smell his hand it smells awful and I ask him what that is and he says that's what my bottom smells like. I told him to go wash his hand using lots and lots of soap and water. He couldn't stop laughing; at the time I did not find this humorous.Where else in the job field can you experience stuff like this.

Our new Heater

This summer we bought our first house and you know in the summer you don't really think about things like furnaces. This weekend me and John were playing Monopoly when we realized that we have two furnaces in our house, so tonight we bought a electric fireplace and two space heaters so hopefully we only have to run the furnace a little. It was a long night putting everything together, and in our family I usually am the one for the job. John's great but doesn't really see the need for instructions. I am serious when we first got married he put together a computer table but put the shelf in upside down so the finished side was on the bottom and we couldn't use the door, we still laugh about that so now I put everything together.

A crazy day

Today Kaitlyn had her school carnival, but since our church had a carnival tonight we decided not to take Reagan to Kaitlyn's carnival because we felt having two in one day would over stimulate him. Kailtyn's carnival was suppose to be outside but because of all the rain it got moved inside it was fun but very crowded. She was such a nice sister she used half of her tokens on her and half for her brother since he didn't get to go. After we got home I was very happy that we still had a few hours to relax and regroup before the next carnival (you other mom's out there already know no such luck) The kids were watching a tv show and I was in the other room when I start to hear Reagan crying I ask Reagan what's wrong and Kaitlyn comes in with a knife saying Reagan cut his self. Reagan's class carved pumpkins last week in preschool and Reagan thought we could carve Kaitlyn's so he asked her for a knife (they are out of his reach) and she gave it to him. I don't blame her for him getting hurt, but the other side of me inside was like what were you thinking. (I did not say this to her)Needless to say we had a long talk tonight about knifes. Reagan had to go the hospital and get two stiches, but once we got home he kept complaining and crying about being itchy I mean this kid was scratching like crazy. I thought ok if I get him to church we can meet up with John and Kaitlyn and he'll have fun and forget about it but as soon as we got there he was crying and itchy so I had to take him back to the hospital thinking maybe he's alergic but the doctor was not helpful at all she kept saying that maybe his costume was itchy, but he was doing this before I even changed him into his costume. Her only answer was to dope him up with Benadryl. It's just frusrating when doctors don't listen. Poor Reagan has been looking so forward to this carnival at church. We have been not eating out at all lately we use to eat out constantly but when we sat down and seen how much money we waste we have been eating at home. Today Reagan saw a comercial for Mcdonals and has been asking all day to go and we keep saying no, so when we left the hospital for the second time and couldn't go back to the carnival He looks up at me with those brown eyes and says "If I can't go to the carnival I think I need a happy meal real bad" how can I say no to that. So we got Mcdonals and rented a movie and had a picnic in the living room which is a huge deal to him because we only eat at the table.

Here is Reagan dressed up like Woody at the hosptal for the second time.

Mom's are the best!

I have been working on this quilt for Kaitlyn for forever it feels like. I have only made two other quilts and both of those were tie knotted so this is the first quilt I am actually quilting. Tuesday my mom came over to show me how to quilt it and was so patient we kept running into alot of problems and it was very frustrating, but hopefully it will be done before Christmas.
The kids were so excited to show her everything they have been learning in swimming lessons. Kaitlyn is getting alot more self confident. Reagan is doing better with following directions (before he use to jump in whenever he felt like it) what can I say they are like night and day. Reagan is the second from the left.

Fireproof

http://www.fireproofthemovie.com/
Last night me and my husband had some much needed time alone. We went to dinner and to see the movie fireproof it was amazing. This time last year me and John were going through some very hard times and were ready to give up on our marriage, but thanks to a great counselor (Pastor Ed) we were able to fix some things and now things are great. The movie was alot like watching our lives I could see so much of us in the movie. There's also a book that goes with it, but so far everywhere we have checked has been sold out. Thanks to my mom for watching the kids, on the way home we were asking the kids if they had a good time with nana and Reagan said yes but I think we should do this again, me and John definately agreed.

Family Night at the YMCA

Tonight my family went to the Y with my sister and her son to go swimming. Reagan has been waiting to be tall enough to go down the slide and since our last visit he is finally over the line. Kailtyn his older sister was still scared to go down. Kaitlyn is adorable but not very adventuress, but got tired of watching little brother show her up. She finally turned to John and said if he went down she would go. After she finally went down she loved it, they should all sleep well tonight and hopefully sleep in tomorrow.

Reagan's Prayer

Last night at dinner John asked the kids who wants to pray. Reagan usually refuses, but decided to pray for the dinner he said "Thank you for my mom and for giving me a mom that cooks so good" I just melted. I have been trying to cook more (all recipies.com is great), before our idea of a home cooked meal was bringing food home or throwing in a frozen pizza. I am amazed at not only the money we save, but also how much more we enjoy meals in the comfort of our own home. But it means so much to know how much my little boy appreciates me.

Vera Bradley

The Vera Bradley sale came to town this week and I promised myself I wasn't going to go. However I was suppose to be off work Saturday and when they called asking me to come in I not only went, but stayed later than I had originally offered, so I felt like I earned a trip to the sale. The bad part was I had my daughter with me Sunday afternoon. It was crazy I have never seen it that busy there were women everywhere pushing and shoving it was like the day after Thanksgiving shopping sales. However we did find some amazing deals I got a purse in my favorite pattern, Kaitlyn found a backpack and purse. Plus I got Vera Bradley bags for all my kids teachers for Christmas for $5.00 a piece .
